1. Purgatorio is absolutely killing it at Perth Fringe Festival right now!
It’s been nominated for both The West Australian Arts Editor Award and the 720 ABC Perth Theatre Award. It’s been described as having “more than enough power in its conception and excellence … to make it worth seeing anytime, anywhere” (David Zampatti, The West Australian 2016).
The actors are getting an amazing wrap too: “together the pair form a cycle of emotions whose momentum never drops once it picks up the pace” (James Burnside, Buzzcuts 2016).
Its previous season was a hit too with Theatre People calling it a “master class in performance and production” and giving it an impressive 5 stars!
2. Women in theatre!
Whoever you are, be inspired by the wonderful women making it happen for themselves in independent theatre. All up, Inferno: A Double Bill has an all-female producing team, two female directors, a female stage manager, production assistant and Crestfall has an all-female cast. And of course we have some brilliant fellas on the team such as Jason Cavanagh (playing Man in Purgatorio), the boys at Worth A Shot productions taking care of photography, video and graphic design, plus Chris O’Neil from Frost Fire Audio putting together our sound design.
3. We’re supporting local theatre-makers and artists during the season
We’ve got local indie artists on pre and post show playlists. We’re also supporting Human Project V1.1 by sharing our venue space for FREE during the entire season to help develop their project before they take it to Adelaide Fringe Festival. Because sharing is caring.
4. Support independent theatre and see some really talented creatives!
